We recently celebrated my 25th birthday with our first international trip to Tulum, Mexico. We had the best time exploring this vibrant city, but the highlight of our trip was our stay at Altar Tulum. Altar Tulum is a newer property about 10 minutes away from the Hotel District, and it is stunning. There are 7 apartments In total, and each is designed in a way that embodies the natural vibe of Tulum.
Location
While Altar Tulum is not a beachfront resort, the location is perfect. Altar Tulum feels hidden away, but it’s only minutes from the beach. As the Hotel District is a very busy area, it was nice to be on the quieter side of Tulum. We felt very safe here as the property is secured from the outside.
What to Expect From the Hosts
By far, these hosts were the best we have ever stayed with. As soon as we booked with them, we were given a list of recommendations on things to do and places to eat, optional add-ons like airport transfers, and detailed information on Tulum. When we arrived, we were greeted at the door and the host showed us around our apartment.
Our Stay
We stayed in Design Casa Sandalo which had an outdoor seating area and private saltwater pool. The apartment was beautifully designed and had everything we needed and more. It also had a separate faucet with purified water for drinking.
